This two-bedroom pied-à-terre in Santa Monica was in desperate need of a complete facelift. The client-- a busy executive, wanted the cramped, dark interior transformed into a sophisticated new space. She requested modern lines with a subtle shot of 50’s glam. We took the place down to the studs-- carefully reworking every single detail. Walls were reconfigured, extensive recessed lighting added, and contrasting finishes-- in shades of chocolate, white, and gray were utilized to create continuity. The addition of elongated subway tiles, cleverly designed
built-ins, and floating cabinetry served to further enhance a new sense of airy openness. The completed interior was punctuated with a dramatic limestone fireplace front-- and custom designed furniture, finished in crisp white lacquer. The dazzling final touch?
A magnificent vintage chandelier-- hung to reflect the seductive Santa Monica sun.
